The National Cybercrime Center of the Nigeria Police Force, prompted by a petition filed by Honorable Dr Mrs Seye Oladejo, has apprehended three individuals linked to a case involving Conspiracy, Cyberstalking, and threats to life.

According to a statement released by ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the spokesperson for the Nigeria Police Force, the arrested suspects—Adebukola Kolapo, Nnedum Micheal Somtomchukwu, and Isaac Akpokighe, aged 27, 25, and 30 respectively—are affiliated with a syndicate known as Gistlover family.

This group has been responsible for managing the Gistlover blog, a microblogging platform notorious for engaging in cyberstalking, incitement, blackmail, and various other activities that have sparked public outcry over the years.

The statement outlined the suspects' roles, indicating that Adebukola Kolapo, also known as Omo oba Gistlover, played a significant part in creating over 80 per cent of the Gistlover pages, using his digital footprint to facilitate the criminal acts. Adebukola, who was on the payroll of the platform and received incentives such as car gifts and money, was responsible for scouting, editing, and captioning content, including the cyberstalking posts against the complainant, Honorable Dr Mrs Oluseyi Oladejo. Furthermore, Adebukola contributed to laundering funds obtained through illegal activities.

Digital forensic analysis revealed the creation of eight Gistlover pages on the syndicate's instructions by Adebukola, along with wallet addresses used for laundering the ill-gotten funds.
